Since joining Cushman & Wakefield in 1981, Tara Stacom has distinguished
herself as one of the leading tenant representation and landlord leasing agents
in the real estate industry. She serves Cushman & Wakefield as Vice
Chairman, Member of the Board of Directors, and Member of the Executive
Committee. Tara has consistently ranked among the firm’s top five brokers, and
in 2004 was Cushman & Wakefield’s number one producing broker worldwide.
During her 25-year career, Tara has been responsible for over 35 million
square feet of commercial transactions ranging from gross and net leases,
synthetic lease transactions, build-to-suits, property acquisitions and
dispositions, and ground leases. Her clients include The Bank of New York, J.
& W. Seligman, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Visiting Nurse Service of New
York, Colgate-Palmolive Company, SL Green, Paramount Group, Blackstone, and
L&L Holdings. Tara is best known by her clients for her creativity,
exceptional service and ability to structure complex transactions.
In 2005, Tara was voted “Woman of the Year” by the New York Executives in
Real Estate (WX), and also recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Alumni
Awards in recognition of her commitment and service to her alma maters, Lehigh
University and Greenwich Academy. In 2001, she received the Cushman &
Wakefield Service Excellence Award for her successful relocation of more than
4,000 Bank of New York employees within two weeks of 9/11.
Tara serves the real estate industry as a Director of the Realty Foundation
of New York as well as a Member of the Real Estate Board of New York, its Ethics
Committee and Commercial Brokerage Division’s Board of Directors, and the Board
of Directors of WX.
In the community, Tara is a Director’s Circle Member and rotational Board
Member of Girls, Inc., a national non-profit that draws upon prominent women in
U.S. industry to support girls in their quest to become independent women. She
serves on Lehigh University’s Board of Trustees as well as the Business School
Board of Advisors, where she has been responsible for establishing a minor in
real estate in the business college.
An accomplished sportsman, Tara has a passion for bird hunting (quail,
upland, pheasant and flighted mallard) and can be found most weekends in
Connecticut pursuing this passion with her husband, who is also an avid hunter.
She is a dedicated runner, as demonstrated by her completion of two New York
City Marathons. Tara also enjoys golfing and hiking.
Tara lives in Manhattan and Litchfield, Connecticut with her husband.
