Chip Collins is co-founder and Managing Director of The Forestland Group, LLC, a
timberland investment management organization that acquires primarily
naturally-regenerating hardwood forestland for institutional investors,
individuals and families, currently totaling over 2.1 million acres in 17
states. He is a former Vice President of Winslow Management Company, Executive
Director of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Vice President of the
Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and Director of the Nature Conservancy in the State
of Colorado.
Currently, Chip is a Director of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation
Partnership, Great Mountain Forest Corporation, the World Forestry Center, and
the Institute for Ecosystem Studies. He formerly served as a Director of the
National Commission on Science for Sustainable Forestry. Chip holds an MES
degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a BA
degree from Colorado College.
A passionate outdoorsman, Chip grew up fishing and hunting on the Eastern
Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. His interests include freshwater and saltwater fly
fishing, wingshooting, mountain biking, skiing, running and tennis.
Chip lives with his wife and three children in Watertown, Massachusetts and
Norfolk, Connecticut.
