David G. Cushman heads the Orvis/Cushman & Wakefield branch office in California and handles the marketing and sale of California listings. David worked in commercial real estate for 37 years prior to joining Orvis/Cushman & Wakefield. Most recently, David acted as Director of Transaction Services with Cushman & Wakefield and was a senior broker responsible for major tenant and landlord representations throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
David began his real estate career in 1970 with Cushman & Wakefield where he worked for 7 years. He then served as Vice President and Western Regional Manager for Bellemead Development Corporation, a subsidiary of Chubb Corporation, where he was responsible for acquisition, development and the leasing and management of the firm’s commercial properties in the region. Prior to rejoining C&W in 2001, he spent 22 years at Cushman Realty Corporation in Los Angeles.
David has represented such corporations as ARCO, Shell, Unocal, Crowell Weedon, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Bankers Trust, Wells Fargo, Coast Savings, Home Savings and Pacific Enterprises. He has also represented the law firms of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Latham & Watkins, and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
David is a graduate of Colgate University. He enjoys many outdoor activities, including golfing, hiking, horseback riding, and skiing. David lives in Los Angeles, and has three grown children and five grandchildren.
