Rob Bean was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in May of 2008 after joining Orvis in October 2005 as Vice President, Corporate Controller. As the VP, Corporate Controller, Rob quickly became an essential support to all Chief Financial Officer related responsibilities, and expanded the Controller’s role to include business decision support and analysis.
Originally from North Reading, MA, Rob graduated with a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business and Economics in 1996. Rob started his career in finance as an auditor for Ernst & Young, became the Assistant Controller at Business Express Airlines, and then moved on to Garnet Hill, Inc. where he served as Controller from1999 to 2005.
Rob lives in Southern Vermont with his wife and enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits including camping and hiking.
