The Property
A 1,777-acre plantation in the heart of the southwest Georgia quail belt, Cypress Pond Plantation is truly one of Georgia’s premier recreation, sporting and conservation retreats. The Recreation
The property has been managed primarily for game and wildlife, using prescribed burns, irrigation, and food plots to enhance resident populations of quail, dove, whitetail deer and wild turkey. The wetlands also support healthy populations of waterfowl, including wood ducks, mallards and ringneck ducks. Bass, bream and crappie reside in the three ponds on the plantation.
Cypress Pond Plantation also features a lighted, five-stand and sporting clays course for nonstop precision and accuracy shotgun practice. The new 1,400-square foot dog kennel features 12 kennels. Offices, storage and operations shops are located at the plantation’s headquarters.
The Retreat

The porch has reconstructed stucco column pillars, symbolic of Southern plantation heritage, with original ornate corbels. The historic bell tower and century-old carriage house still stand adjacent to the main home.
Built in 1851, the main home at Cypress Pond Plantation is embellished by artistic detail from the ornately carved plaster ceiling moldings to antique marble fireplace mantles. Specialty rooms throughout the house include three parlors, a sunlight-filled conservatory, a billiard/ trophy room and a library.
Recent renovations have made this home a retreat brimming with comfort and luxury, from the geothermal heating and air conditioning systems to custom carpeting. Heart pine and tile floors run throughout the single-story house with its 15 foot ceilings.
Shooting party guests may also relax completely in one of four guest homes or the guest cabin. These guest quarters are styled with a distinctive Southern sporting motif, and feature screened-in porches and fireplaces. The two guest houses on the hundred acre lake each have a private dock.
